27 Aug Filming at Hewlett-Packard (HP)

This past weekend was filled with craziness. We had two big client sets happening on the same day. The following day, some of our team packed our bags and went off to Houston to film a short film, “Blind Date Rules.” More details about that later. We had the opportunity to work with Hewlett Packard and the Lean Six Sigma training team. The team approached us with a task to create a period piece based on their lead character Nick Ziesler. The goal was to show how Nick moved from period to period. Previously, the internal industrial video team had created Nick in the 1940s. This time, he was tasked to be in the 1970s (which explains the cool mustache).

Filming at HP was a treat. It’s always neat to take someone else’s script and try to capture it into the best story you can visually. Working with non-actors was the biggest challenge for our HP set. After being in the business for so long, you start to forget that at one point, you didn’t know film lingo either. Terms such as “Back to one” or “C-47” that seem so normal, are actually completely foreign to a non-film person.

By the end of the set however, everyone… including all the internal HP personnel in the film were experts. “Everyone! Back to one! She said back to one! That means start from the top,” yells our lead actor, Nick Zeisler. You are exactly right Nick. Back to one!
