Dear diary,   It has been day 4 of filming and already we have captured some epic shots and experienced some ridiculous events. The days have gone by in a blur of 15-20 hour long shooting schedules.   Our third day of shooting on Friday, Aug 2, which should have lasted until 11 PM, turned into an all night fiasco. Though I pride myself to be a good planner, sometimes there are things you just cannot plan for. Here is how Day 3 went:   6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Learning how to get rid of nasty reflections coming from...

There are countless times when I release a piece of work and I cannot help but wonder whether I am the only one who appreciates or cares to watch it. I joke a lot with my friends that I am probably the only person in a dark room by myself laughing at the jokes on screen or editing miniscule details that only I can see. What if no one ever watches what I make, or what if only 50 people do? In the end, I say, “So what?” For me, filming is a privilege.   The audience has no idea…

Being a Texas alumn, it is always a pleasure to go back on campus and film for school. Not only do I get to revisit professors, but also I have the opportunity to meet more incoming students. Here is the first full-time Welcome Video for incoming students. The actual video is on the Admitted Students page (only available to admitted students), but you can get a sneak peak here!   how can i get my ex girlfriend back zp8497586rq

Make sure to read blog 1 so this blog makes more sense…   So how do you go about doing something you have never done before? The only film classes I had taken at this point were the two classes in undergrad. Was I really ready to take the leap and pursue filmmaking as my full-time career or was this just a quarter life crisis of some sort?   Test Yourself In my experience, the best way to answer such questions is to put yourself through a series of tests. My first test was to make a film. Considering that…

Having attended and filmed several weddings, I know now, more than ever, that when I get married, I want to hire the best videographer there is out there to film my wedding. An experienced wedding videographer knows how to tell a story, capture important moments, despite stressful situations ranging from poor lighting to tight wedding schedules.     Most people think that the wedding ceremony is the most important part about a wedding. I would have to disagree.   I feel that the most important part about the wedding is the overall experience, from getting ready, to watching the nervous groom…

5:00 AM rolled around and sure enough, my friend, Nicolas Putnam was already on his way to pick me up for surfing. Despite going to bed the previous night fairly late, I surprisingly found it not difficult to wake up. I am sure the “first time” surfing nerves helped. We went back to Nic’s house to collect the surfboards and wetsuits, make breakfast (bacon, fried rice… my own creation), and head to the beach. Upon arrival, it shocked me to see the beach already filled with surfers. I had thought we were way too early, but in reality, we were…

Many people have asked us what it’s like to work at Moth to Flame. It is really difficult to describe because the things we do on a daily basis often fluctuates so much. Sometimes the interns come in and we just spend the entire time filming something fun, or we go on shoots, edit, and more. We decided to make a video this week to show you what shenanigans we have been up to.
