Project 0 is an experimental action film that seeks to challenge the constraints of budget and time. The purpose of this project is to create a feature long narrative in short (1-3 minute long) increments. We will write the story as we go. The film will be made with virtually no money and will be used to explore existing action film techniques and special fx. Back in March 2011, Hassan F. Johnson of ThaTrunk partnered up with director, Christine Chen, to create a mini-documentary series to kick off the launch of ThaTrunk.com. ThaTrunk.com is a digital music marketplace for driven Independent Hip Hop Artists that sells services normally offered by record labels. They are pretty awesome. Make sure to check them out. In 1994, National Geographic filmed the compelling documentary “Beyond the Clouds” about Lijiang, China. In 1995, Lijiang was struck by a devastating earthquake that registered 7.0 on the Richter scale, disrupting the lives of many in this beautiful and quaint city. This documentary seeks to show how the area nicknamed “Shangri-La” has changed and rebuilt itself in the recent years. Filmed in 2006, Christine Chen and Jo Ling Kent take a month long journey exploring Lijiang for Rice University. This is pretty much Christine Chen’s first official film.
