A Bird’s Nest required the creation of a hideaway in the forest that appeared to be created by found objects. Which included a doll that appeared to have gone through quite a traumatic experience before being used as decoration. As you can see in the gif director Christine Chen made sure the doll had an authentic antiqued look to it.
One downside to shooting in real locations is sometimes you get in rather cramped quarters. As you can see in the photo it’s not just people packed in tightly out of shot, it’s also equipment like lights. Lights that warm up the room quite a bit. Luckily on this day it was a rather quick shoot.

This photo was taken on a day when two friendly movers from Two Men and A Truck came out to help us shoot a scene. It was probably the easiest moving day they ever had on the set of Funemploment. All that was being moved was a mattress that day.

About two years ago we put together a little ad for the Doritos Crash The Super Bowl competition. It involved a pair of special underwear adorned with many resplendent orange chips, which you can see Kellie Penna handling with care in the gif above. On the first day of arriving in Shreveport to film A Bird’s Nest the crew went out into a wooded area where we would be filming a good portion of the film. We started by checking out the more accessible areas, then moved on to an area that we had to walk a good distance to the actual area we shot at. This sequence of photos was taken during that walk.
Today’s throwback image was created on the set of Funemployment, after Adam Duncan took a fall while helping Christine Chen film some b-roll that left him a bit immobile. Lucky for him Joe Brostowicz was there to carry him around set.
