clinique2 - Clinique: What is Happy To You?

Clinique wanted spec commercials that answered the question “What is Happiness to You?” I thought about this for a while and came up with the idea of interviewing women who enjoy what they do. My inspiration mainly came from my own experiences. I worked in corporate for 3 years and realized that  I could not go on in life half living. I took a risk and decided to pursue film making 100%. Ever since, I have been so happy about my decision and loving how much I am growing as a filmmaker. Passion will get you far. I may be making next to nothing right now, but I know that if I keep working on my dream and striving to pursue this passion of mine, that I will be okay in the end. What is happiness to me? Happiness is being able to do what I love to do everyday. Happiness is waking up and feeling like there is a purpose in my life. Happiness is friends and family. I am happy because I love what I do, making films.

This piece features two very incredible women that I call my friends. One is Heather Alden, from Paper Faded Figures and the other is Michelle Faraone, a Hollywood actress. Both are pursuing what they want to do. Faded Paper Figures is one of my all time favorite bands right now and they are exploding. The film showcases their song titled: “Invent it All Again”. I had the opportunity to meet with Heather because I used to know Heather’s husband Kael back when I went to high school in Colorado. Good times. Small World. I know Michelle from being a producer/AD for a short film in Austin, Texas. Michelle is Jennifer Love Hewitt’s double and has been in “Wages of Love”, “Ghost Whisperers”, etc. She is an incredible person inside and out.

I hope this very short spec inspires people to be happy and do what they love to do. We certainly are.

The video will be available once Clinique launches its What is Happy campaign. Here is the link to our award announcement: Clinique Award Announcement
