Dear Diary,   After a nerve wracking 1st table read for Funemployment, it was a relief to say that the response to the script after the 2nd table read had significantly improved. Luckily, with the powers combined, Larissa and I managed to fix some structural issues and injected more characterizations for some of the audience’s favorite characters.   Though it is an exciting feeling to think that we are 90% closer to having a script we are happy with, it is also terribly frightening. Though we work hard at Moth to Flame, we definitely have fun as well. To lead up to our kickstarter shoot for Origin of Cool to raise money for their new product (customizable Ping-Pong paddles), we decided to do our own tutorial on how to play Ping-Pong. When Daran Herrman from Coloredlion.com asked Moth to Flame to help produce and direct Bri’s debut music video for her new single “Whiskey,” we said of course. Working with Bri Bagwell in January to make her debut music video was a treat — what a beautiful person inside and out. The shoot took two full days at two different locations, Rock Studio Pool in Dripping Springs (if you are interested in renting the location, let us know) and Saxon Pub. The project would not have been possible without a crew of awesome people. Stay tuned in the next few weeks…

Independent filmmakers wear multiple hats. We often times are the writers, the producers, the directors, the shooters, the makeup artists, the editors, and the list goes on… For me, working on set is the most memorable part of the filmmaking process– people and chaos surround you and it is very much a huge social event, at least on the Moth to Flame sets it is… Off the set into post-production however, is another story. What Moth to Flame loves most, besides making films of course, is seeing other filmmakers succeed. We wanted to broadcast to the world that one of our very own team members, Kelsey Pribilski, is now a super star on CMT for Eric Church. The video is already on Maxim, a variety of other awesome sites, and picking up steam.
