A lot craziness has been happening for our film “A Bird’s Nest.” On August 12th, the team waited anxiously while we watched the live newsfeed announcing the top 20 films that would advance in the Louisiana Film Prize competition. After almost all the names had been called and our hearts almost sank in disappointment, until the 17th film was announced. We’re going to Shreveport! Oct 9 – 12. 5:00 AM rolled around and sure enough, my friend, Nicolas Putnam was already on his way to pick me up for surfing. Despite going to bed the previous night fairly late, I surprisingly found it not difficult to wake up. I am sure the “first time” surfing nerves helped.
