29 Mar A Bollywood Experience
The beauty of being a filmmaker is that I get to relive experiences whenever I review and edit my footage. Sometimes this is not necessarily a positive thing, however, 90% of the time it is. Despite having to review approximately 50 hours, 1.5 Tb worth of footage, I welcomed it. India, a life changing experience in person and even more so through the camera.
Here is what I came up with for my first pass at the footage (besides the trailer).
I hope it gives you as much joy watching it as it did for me editing. The music video features the song Chammak Challo with Akon and draws inspiration from typical Bollywood videos.
This song impressed me a lot. Akon does not speak Hindi, but according to my friend Suma, he has perfect pronunciation! I tried very hard not to use the song because I typically like to connect the lyrics of a song to the content of the video and according to Suma’s mom, Chammak Challo apparently means sexy village hottie, but with some negative stigma attached (most girls don’t want to be called Chammak Challo). The rhythm was too good to resist.
So, if you went on the trip with me and are tired of telling your friends and family about it, just send them this video. If you have not been to India and want to know why you should, watch this video. Most importantly, if you like it, make sure to share it with everyone else and like the Moth to Flame Facebook page. This is the best compliment to me. If you have already liked the page, tell a few more people to like it as well. Besides, you get to see everything that comes out first since I release everything on FB before anywhere else.
