Wedding Season with Kellie Penna of Moth to Flame!

And so it begins…….Countdown: 10 months… WEDDING

We’ve all been to them, we all hear the stories, and we’ve all seen Bridesmaids. But ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can prepare you for actually planning one. Seriously, NO-THING.  I got engaged this past September – Octoberish (I’m really bad with dates). It was wonderful. My fiancé proposed in a way that was sweet/personal and it was perfect for who we are as a couple.

For about 2 weeks I was so excited, waving my ringed hand at anybody who’ll stand still long enough, answering all the questions on “How did he do it?”, and just generally day-dreaming about the big day.  After that 2 weeks…….that little bit of panic starts to creep in. It’s not just getting married, but it’s the whole damn blessed event, that can make a woman hyperventilate. People love to ask questions: “Where’s it going to be?” “What kind of theme are you having?” “Have you found a dress?” “Have you started booking places yet?” “How many bridesmaids are you having?” “Where do you want to go on your honeymoon?”…..If you say no to any of these questions then you hear: “Well you better start soon!” ……..And then you try not to punch those people in the face…… Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited, I still daydream, and I still get teary eyed thinking about walking down the aisle towards him. But take that excitement, mix in some anxiety and stress, pour in some alcohol for the weekends, and the result is the average soon-to-be bride. Alas, this is just how it’s going to be for a while.

So it’s currently January and after being a human tumor on my couch for about 2 weeks during Christmas time…. I’m kicking my butt into high gear. I went to a bridal extravaganza in my home town this past weekend, and I’m visiting my first church on Tuesday. My date is in October but since my venue is NOT in the city where I currently live, I have to get stuff done EARLY. Like, that light at the end of the tunnel is as far away as mars, kind of EARLY. Unfortunately all those people who ask questions are right on that front. Since it is so early I have nothing to actually show right now, just ideas in my head…..but this will be a countdown blog to my big day. I will update as I make progress, sharing a few of the fruits of my labor, and giving a little bit of advice for you take home. So until next time…

TIP #1: Chamomile tablets. All natural and they help with anxiety. Buy them
ASAP.
